NCL America plans to stay in Hawaii despite reports of increasing losses.  NCL America has 3 cruise ship based in Hawaii which include the Pride of Hawaii, Pride of America and Pride of Hawaii.  One of the rising costs NCL faces is their payroll costs due to Hawaii’s low unemployment.  Hawaii’s cruise industry has been booming ever since NCL entered the market making it one of the most popular cruise destinations in the nation.

A new Hawaii hula show will be available now on the Pride of Hawaii cruise ship.  The hula show will be called Hookipa Hawaii and was created by Vicky Holt Takamine.  The hula show provide original entertainment and an educational experience of the Hawaiian culture.  By having a hula show on board it will provide passengers with an easy way to enjoy a Hawaii theme show without having to leave the ship.  The Hula show will to scheduled at port of calls in Oahu at Aloha Tower.

NCL is increasing the length of their Hawaii cruises from 7 days to 10 and 11 days for some of their cruises.  The Pride of Aloha cruise will travel around the Hawaii islands including the Fanning Island in Karibati.  The other Hawaii cruises that are increasing in length are the Norwegian Sun and the Norwegian Wind.  This new 11 and 10 days cruises are great for people that want an extended vacation and also want to be able to see all the Hawaiian islands.  Please check NCL for cruise schedules and pricing.

NCL recently launched a new Hawaii Golf cruise program for their 3 Hawaii cruise lines.  The three cruise lines that will include the Hawaii golf packages are the Pride of Hawaii, Pride of Aloha and the Pride of America.  This new Hawaii golf cruise program was created in response to the growing popularity of golfing for NCL’s passengers. 

NCL hopes to make their new golf package one of the premier cruise/golf experience.  Hawaii is home to some of the best golf courses in the world.  The golf courses have not been confirmed yet.  Prices of the golf packages have also yet to be confirmed but is targeted at higher end prices.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced today that it returned to profitability.  It had revenues of $592.3 million and profits of $49 million.  NCL operates 3 cruise ships in Hawaii which include The Pride of Hawaii, The Pride of Aloha and The Pride of America.  NCL now has a much greater share of its US operations here in Hawaii since completing The Pride of Hawaii this past year.
