Launched in 1995, cruisecritic.com features in-depth guides, information and reviews on more than 225 ships, 55 cruise lines, 135 ports from all over the globe, including Hawaii. Its interactive online community swap stories, data, and travel tips each day and often engage in lively debates over various cruise prices, amenities and services.
One Mouse Click Away From Brilliant Hawaii Cruise Deals
After you download cruisecritic.com, be sure to click on the Bargains button as there are usually several Hawaiian cruise discounts and deals. For example, in one sitting, we found six discount Hawaiian cruises ranging from seven to 21 nights on such liners as the Carnival Spirit, Island Princess, and the Celebrity Cruise Infinity.
Under Cruise Critic’s Cruise Style section, you can find the best Hawaiian cruises for a variety of special interest or circumstance, including the disabled, seniors, honeymooners, families, and even gay/lesbians. For example, we found several tropical cruises that were perfect for active-sporty folks.
You may search for Hawaiian cruises trough the following criteria – destination, lifestyle/interests, cruise line, and price. Destination is broken down into cruise region, departure city and port of call. When we chose our destination Hawaiian cruise, 12 separate cruises on 12 separate dates popped up.
Along with passenger information, Cruise Critic provides its own cruise ship reviews which are fair, comprehensive, and accurate. The cruise ship reviews are broken down into the following categories: Overview; Dining; Public Rooms; Cabins; Entertainment; Fitness & Recreation; Family, Fellow Passengers, Dress Code; and Gratuities.
But beware: the passenger reviews and guides must be read in full – some tend to grade ships or cruises over capricious criteria like weather, the kind of mints found on their pillows or whether the crew greeted them with a “hello” or “salutations.”
Perhaps the most valuable part of Cruise Critic was the in-depth reviews of the Hawaiian cruises’ ports of call. At your fingertips is information about the histories, cultures and specific points of interests at such destinations as Honolulu, Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.
Other helpful online guides are Cruise-chat.com and Cruise-addicts.com, but Cruise Critic is your cruising information.

We just completed a 7-day on Pride of Hawaii w/ 24 other friends/family. The islands are beautiful, but NCL needs to get it’s act together if I were to ever sail with them again. Most lugage was extremely late in getting to all of us due to the fact that most of the handlers did not show up to work. Shore excursions were either cancelled (not one e-mail beforehand) or times changed. All this was even before we left port! The bath towel order was 5000 short, so getting towels, and those cute animals, was not the easiest. 200 crew members short made housekeeping, and bartending very difficult. Some cabins had everything they were supposed to have, 6 of our travel partners had no coffee pot, could not open the minibars, and had no soap! The service we had by all the food servers and bar people was excellent, in fact we asked and got the servers we wanted in La Bistro. Tony at the bar by the pool is the best. Juan at the Champagne bar is great.
If everyone was told about all the shortages, including no limes for drinks one day, everyone would have understood, and not complained, at least not so much. I do believe that the dining (speciality) resverations MUST be allowed to be done on-line before we get aboard. The system now is awful. Calling everyday is difficult, long and frustrating.
